Uttarakhand business place- Harsil vale
Harsil vale could be a gem I discovered on my thanks to Gangotri. Solitude, peace, serenity, beauty, culture, hidden from the crowds, this place fulfils all my needs. i used to be headed bent a trek to the disreputable Kalindi Khal and had many spare days before the trek. I had planned to adapt in Gangotri before I begin for the trek. whereas i used to be driving from Uttarkashi, 30km before Gangotri, some of red-roofed buildings enclosed with Cedrus deodara trees caught my eye. I took a reverse, crossed a bridge on the Bhagirathi watercourse to enter into this remote village.
This tiny hamlet named Harsil at the peak of 2620m/7860ft looked marvellous amidst dense Cedrus deodara trees, and snow coated peaks unavowed a peak through the clouds within the wide, clear blue air. The hamlet consists of few homes during a bivouac space. There are 9-10 budget to luxury guest homes and many native dhabas serving North Indian and Garhwali food in Harsil vale.
There’s a story that goes behind a house named “Wilson House” in Harsil. Wilson had abandoned British Army and serendipitously landed in Harsil vale. He married a neighborhood pahadi lady, engineered a house and settled here. He sold-out Cedrus deodara wood by floating them on the watercourse to the plains and minted his own currency and dominated over this a part of Uttarakhand. His house was rehabilitated to a Forest building.
The path more down took Maine to little village known as Vagori. It consists of ancient Garhwali wood homes on each the edges of the trail.
The village is occupied by the Bhotia tribe (basically from Tibet). the ladies were seen weaving and knitting in teams, taking care of the social unit, kids, sheep and farms, whereas most men vie cards throughout the day. I failed to zoom camera on their faces as I got a touch that they do not am fond of it, note the girl activity away behind the pillar within the image on top of.
