‘Why Hindus Excluded From Assam Citizens’ List’: Trinamool To BJP

KOLKATA: The Trinamool Congress has asked the BJP to issue a clarification on the exclusion of a massive range of Hindus in the ultimate National Register of Citizen (NRC) listing in Assam, beforehand of birthday celebration chief Amit Shah’s scheduled go to to West Bengal.
Mr Shah will go to the metropolis on October 1 and inaugurate a neighborhood Durga Puja without addressing a seminar on NRC and citizenship modification bill.
He has over and over said that the NRC exercise will be carried out across the country.
Out of the over 19 lakh human beings overlooked from the last NRC in Assam, which used to be published on August 31, about 12 lakh are Hindus.
“Before projecting itself as the saviour of Hindus, BJP need to first clarify why such a large quantity of them had been unnoticed from the NRC list in Assam,” Trinamool chief Partha Chatterjee said.
“The BJP has been speaking on the implementation of the NRC to throw out infiltrators. Then are these Hindus who have been ignored from the (NRC) list, infiltrators? What will they do do now?” he added.
The omission of a large quantity of Hindu Bengalis from the ultimate NRC list in BJP-ruled Assam has interestingly created panic amongst the humans and has allegedly led to six deaths in the nation so far.
“It is BJP which is responsible for the deaths of so many harmless people in Bengal. Those who live to tell the tale by using dividing Hindus and Muslims have now started focused on Hindus and Bengalis,” senior TMC leader and minister Firhad Hakim said.
The Trinamool is projecting the BJP as anti-Hindu, a BJP chief informed PTI.
“The TMC has been opposing NRC to shield Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators who are its vote bank in West Bengal. But after many Hindus were omitted from the NRC listing in Assam, it is making an attempt to assignment us as anti-Hindu and an anti-refugee birthday celebration which might take a toll on our possibilities in Bengal,” said a senior kingdom BJP leader, who did no longer want to be named.
“We are hopeful that Shah would assuage all fears and misconceptions on NRC,” the BJP leader said.
BJP Bengal president Dilip Ghosh blamed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party, the Trinamool for developing panic over NRC in Bengal to instill concern among the Hindus.
“Only TMC will be responsible for the deaths over NRC in the state. If there is one extra death over NRC panic, an FIR should be lodged towards Mamata Banerjee and TMC. We (BJP) have truly said that all Hindus who have come from other nations will be granted citizenship below Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and then NRC will be implemented to weed out the infiltrators,” nation BJP president Dilip Ghosh said.
