Eyeing the approaching Assembly elections, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced a bonanza for employees by using granting them residence lease allowance as per the recommendations of Seventh Central Pay Commission.
The revised residence lease allowance would be implemented with impact from August 1 and it would gain about 3.5 lakh employees.
This selection would put an additional expenditure of ₹1,900 crore on the country exchequer, a government statement said.
The Chief Minister introduced this and several other incentives for government personnel after an over six-hour meeting right here with the representatives of employees and exchange unions, like the Haryana Karamchari Mahasangh, Sarva Karamchari Sangh, Rajya Karamchari Sangh and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh.
He also announced to revive the ex-gratia policy for dependents of the deceased employees that had been discontinued for the reason that 1996.
The new policy would be implemented with effect from August 1 and would cowl those employees, whose age was 52 years or much less or had carried out greater than 5 years of service.
Khattar said the dependents of the deceased worker would be given two picks – both to get income of the final duration of carrier or get a authorities job of Group C and D category for that period, as per the qualification, furnished that none of the family member is in the government service.
Those who have not yet received the economic benefit after the employee’s demise can nevertheless decide for the option of the government job, he added.
