Eye on Cloud, Google expands its marketing team in India
The push comes as Google sees normal corporations adopting transferring their IT infrastructure in the direction of the cloud to be agile and compete with Indian unicorns.
Google is stepping its sales groups in India as it appears to woo more firms to host applications on its cloud platform as it aggressively competes with competitors such as Microsoft’s Azure and Amazon Web Services in the country.
The push comes as Google sees ordinary organizations adopting moving their IT infrastructure toward the cloud to be agile and compete with Indian unicorns who have leveraged the pay as you use model of internet hosting applications on the cloud. Google is also searching to tap the public cloud commercial enterprise in India.
Rick Harshman, Managing Director, Google Cloud, APAC instructed ET that the company’s growth approach in India would be pushed through adoption of multi cloud strategies through massive groups and with a push of its new open cloud platform, Anthos.
According to Harshman, in the remaining 12-18 months giant organizations in India have extended the pace of transferring their on-premise purposes to the cloud.

According to analysts, Google Cloud lags at the back of Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure in the international market.
Harshman said that the approach to increase market share in India would be to tackle the wishes of enterprises who are an increasing number of relying on multi cloud strategies and to increase the penetration of its cloud agnostic Anthos product.
